Lacrosse equipment: Lacrosse requires generic athletic items: mouthguard, athletic supporter with cup, football or soccer style field cleats (not metal), as well as unique Lacrosse equipment: helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, and gloves.  Hockey helmet, shoulder and arm pads may be used, hockey gloves are safe enough, but may not be flexible enough. 

    Equipment MUST be obtained prior to the first practice, there will be NO equipment available at the fields, your son/daughter will not be able to participate without all the necessary equipment.

Evanston Youth Lacrosse Equipment incentive program 2010 (Evanston Residents Only):
First time Evanston Youth Lacrosse participants, who have completed program payment** are entitled to:

1. $50 "First Stick" voucher.  This voucher may be used only toward the purchase of a lacrosse stick from Lacrosse America (starter stick price range: $40 - $55)
2. FREE rental (with deposit) of Lacrosse equipment through Lacrosse America.  (Full rental fee: $70

**Be Aware, registrants who have an outstanding balance (typically those who wish to pay registration fees by check to the mailing address) must be sure their payment has been credited before proceeding to the Lacrosse America store.

       The spirit and intention of EYLA's Equipment Incentive Program is first to help incent kids to try lacrosse by reducing the initial costs.  These benefits are subsidized by EYLA donors.  Typically lacrosse equipment can be worn for several years/seasons.  Returning veterans are encouraged to own their own equipment for better personal comfort.  Used equipment is available at Play it Again Sports in Northbrook.  Our new website also has a working "Equipment Exchange" where folks can pass along used equipment as kids grow.
