Evanston Youth Lacrosse is pleased to announce another year of girls lacrosse this Spring!  This program will teach women’s lacrosse fundamentals in a fun and safe environment and has been designed for both beginner and experienced players.
Evanston Youth Lacrosse, in cooperation with the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association (IGLA) 
is offering a spring season of lacrosse games and practices to the Evanston community. 
 

Evanston Youth Lacrosse will now offer full lacrosse programs for  K-8th grade, divided into 5 separate age groups 

  • Kindergarten
  • 1st/2nd grades
  • 3rd/4th grades
  • 5th/6th grades
  • 7th/8th grades


We are always looking to grow the coaching staff for our EYLA Girls Program.  We would love it if you have lacrosse knowledge but it is not necessary.  If you are interested in coaching this spring, please contact Beth Skidmore directly.

  • Program fees shown below DO NOT include the required $25 USLacrosse Youth Membership fee. Obtain/renew at: www.uslacrosse.org
  • Girls equipment includes:  stick, goggles and mouthguard   Older players, 5th thru 8th should wear cleats.
  • $50 stick voucher for first time players. This voucher may be used only toward the purchase of a lacrosse stick from T. L. Fritts 560 Chestnut St, Winnetka, Il.
  • May 9th - EYLA Day at ETHS!   


Girls K                                                                                                                        Cost: $100   
April 13-June 6 (no games Memorial Day weekend)
June 6th will be a tournament day in Evanston, times TBD.

Kindergarten girls meet once a week on Saturday mornings.  The focus is on introducing the sport of lacrosse in a positive environment. The session will be divided into skill development through fun games as well as competition in scrimmage format. There will also be other fun competitive games.

Girls  1st - 2nd Grade                                                                                        Cost: $160

1st-2nd Grades in the Spring Season meet twice a week, this is EYLA House League for 1st-2nd grade.  Tuesdays is a practice session dedicated to skill development and teaching the fundamentals.  Saturdays are a "game day."  The girls will be divided into teams they will stay with throughout the season and play other teams in a House League format.

Girls 2nd/3rd/4th Grades - Pink Level                                                      Cost: $200

IGLA YouthFest - June 7th, all day tournament included in registration.

New this Spring IGLA has invited 2nd graders to play in the IGLA league,  Pink 2nd/3rd/4th grade girls meet twice a week. Weekday practice for drills and scrimmaging, and games on Sundays against other area towns. Players focus on catching and throwing, ground balls, defensive positioning and footwork, shooting, and game concepts.  Games are 7 v. 7 on shortened fields with goal blockers.

Girls 5th-6th Grade

IGLA YouthFest - June 7th, all day tournament included in registration.


5th-6th grade "Pink" meets 1 time during the week with games on Sunday.  Players focus on stick handling, catching and throwing on the move, ground balls, defensive positioning and footwork, shooting, draw controls, transitions, and more advanced game concepts.  This level plays 11 v. 11 with a goalie and each girl will take a turn at goalie for a week unless someone is interested in focusing on this position.  This year the EYLA fee includes the IGLA Youth Festival and our own Evanston uniforms.  Pink Youth Festival is a tournament day held on June 7th.

Girls 5th-6th Purple Level                                                                                        Cost: $325
April 13-June 7
Practice: MONDAY & WEDNESDAY      6:00-7:30pm/dark     Tallmadge Park
Games:  SUNDAY     anytime between  12:00-5:00pm            Home (ETHS) and Away
May 2nd is Purple Playday, an all day tournament - included in registration.


Purple players must have attended an assessment date and been selected to play at this level.

5th-6th "Purple" is for the more committed player who will practice twice a week with games on Sundays.  Practices will continue to develop the fundamental skills as well as teach more advanced game concepts.  There may be two Evanston teams at this level, TBD.  This year the EYLA fee includes the IGLA Purple Playday and our own Evanston uniforms.  IGLA Purple Playday is a competitive spring tournament for girls with bracket play and 5/6 and 7/8 champions as well as clinics and demos throughout the day.

Girls 7th-8th Grade

*This practice day is subject to change based on players and coaches availability.  *A minimum of 15 girls to field an all Evanston team.

7th-8th grade "pink" meet 1 time during the week with games on Sunday.  Players focus on stick handling, catching and throwing on the move, ground balls, defensive positioning and footwork, shooting, draw controls, transitions, advanced game concepts, modified checking, implementing attack plays, and team defense.  This level plays with modified checking and a goalie.  Each girl will take a turn playing goalie for a week unless someone wishes to focus on this position.  This year the EYLA fee includes the IGLA Youth Festival and our own Evanston uniforms.  Youth Festival is a tournament day held on June 7th.

A minimum of 15 girls to field an all Evanston team.

7th-8th grade "purple" meets twice a week for practice and games on Sunday afternoons.  Players will continue their skill development at a more advanced level and will learn more advanced game concepts focusing on "team attack" and "team defense."  This level plays full-field 11 v. 11 with a goalie, with modified checking.  Each girl will take a turn playing goalie unless someone chooses to focus on this position.
